Our current activities in aerodynamics mainly address the fundamentals of boundary layer transition, with a specific focus on bypass transition. Our approach is predominantly experimental, utilising both low- and medium-speed subsonic wind tunnel setups, instrumented with 2D and stereo Particle-Image Velocimetry (PIV), Hot-wire Anemometry (HWA) and conventional pressure-temperature instruments.

We have also worked extensively on the applied topics of gas turbine heat transfer, and heat transfer in airframes, specifically the challenge of thermal management within composite structures.
